Please note this solicitation is not ready to be issued as of this date. The Embassy of the United States in Bosnia and Herzegovina will launch the solicitation on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website when it is available.
The requirement is for the providing of health insurance services to the locally hired employees of the US Mission. The estimated number of employees is 450 with their eligible dependents. Please note these are only estimated quantities.
The anticipated performance period is for a base year, with four one-year option periods, if exercised by the Government. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered.
The Government intends to award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the lowest priced technically acceptable offeror who is a responsible contractor. The Government may award the contract based on the initial offer without discussion. The resultant contract will be a firm fixed price type contract.
The Government is planning a pre-quotation conference and the date for this conference will be in the solicitation.
All contractors have to be registered in the SAM (System for Award Management) Database prior to contract award pursuant to FAR provision 5.207. Therefore prospective offerors are encouraged to register prior to the submittal of quotations/proposals.

Delivery and Subscription to Local (BiH, CRO, SRB) daily newspapers and magazine
The American Embassy Sarajevo intends to issue a Blanket Purchase Order (BPA) for delivery and subscription to local (BiH, CRO, SRB) daily newspapers, weekly, fortnightly, monthly magazines and periodicals.
The vendor will provide services to include: delivery of daily newspapers, weekly, fortnightly, monthly magazines and periodicals to the American Embassy in Sarajevo in accordance with the terms, conditions and requirements outlined in the Blanket Purchase Agreement. Prospective offeror shall deliver newspapers and magazines to the American Embassy in Sarajevo address every day including holidays during the time specified in the BPA.
Only companies or individuals specializing in this field should apply for the information package.
All companies doing business with the U.S. Government valued over $30,000 must register on a website called “SAM – System for Award Management”. The website compiles standard information such as company legal name, street address, contact information, and what kind of goods and services it offers. To register in SAM, a DUNS number and a NCAGE code are required. If you do not have this information, it must be obtained before registering. There is no cost involved in either obtaining the numbers or registering in SAM. Interested parties are strongly encouraged to register their business as soon as possible to avoid any delay in making an award to the successful bidder. Please note that individuals are exempt from SAM registration.
