One important element of successfully combating crime and corruption is asset forfeiture – the process law enforcement agencies use to seize property suspected of being connected to criminal activity, or things belonging to someone convicted of a crime.
The U.S. Department of Justice was proud to partner with the FBiH Seized Property Management Agency to sponsor a regional conference on the subject, which included professionals from BiH, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, and Montenegro. The program included a guest lecture on Practice and Experience in Assets Seizure by FBI Legal Attache John Bivona, and concluded with a working meeting of presidents of municipal and cantonal courts and chief cantonal prosecutors with representatives for the Seized Property Management Agency of FBiH.
