During the week of May 27th, the Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) program sponsored a one-week training course entitled Security Documents Identification and Verification (SDIV) to Border Police officers from Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, and Croatia.
This course, located in Sarajevo and delivered by regional instructors from Serbia and Croatia, focuses on the forensic examination of travel and personal identification documents (passports, IDs, etc.) at border check points (BCPs) and ports of entry (POE) in order to identify fraudulent facsimiles used for illegal entry. This course is a follow-on to the May 15-16 EXBS delivery in Sarajevo of DOCUBOX training to Border Police officers from BiH. The DOCUBOX unit, donated by EXBS to BiH Border Police, is an advanced forensics document examination tool used for definitive examinations of passports, travel documents, and international currency.
