U. S. citizens who apply for a new passport at the U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo now have the option to have their new U.S. passport returned to them by the Embassy using a DHL prepaid shipping service to any address in Bosnia and Herzegovina. To do so, you’ll need to inform us at your appointment if you wish to have your newly issued passport returned to you by DHL. If you choose this option, your current passport will be canceled at the time of your appointment and returned to you. Once you receive the notification email from the Embassy that your passport is ready for pick-up, you’ll need to create a DHL shipping label on the DHL web site, pay their fee of approximately BAM 20.32 (by credit card on DHL’s web site), and email the shipping label to the Embassy in response to the notification email you will receive from us. For detailed instructions on how to create a DHL shipping label, please follow the DHL-Instructions (PDF 869 KB).
