The U.S. Embassy to Bosnia and Herzegovina condemns the April 27 terrorist attack on the police station in Zvornik. We extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Dragan Djuric who was killed in the attack, to the police officers who were injured in the line of duty, as well as other employees of Zvornik police station and the citizens of this city.
We call on all law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough and professional investigation of the attack. It remains of utmost importance that this situation is not politicized and that all the political leaders refrain from inflammatory and unhelpful rhetoric. The U.S. Embassy fully supports BiH authorities in their efforts to fight against terrorism and other threats to security and as they work on maintaining public order and the protection of its citizens.
